He was born in Skowhegan, and later adopted by Lester and Anita Fitch. He and his sister Beth spent their early childhood living on their dairy farm in New Sharon. Brian thoroughly enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and was a very avid musician playing drums, keyboard, and other instruments.

Brian had a huge heart and was known for his humor, and playing pranks. He loved to tell stories of his childhood, especially of his mother’s refrigerator and her cooking.

He went on to marry Melody Chapman in 1977. They had three children he dearly loved: son Rodney Fitch, who predeceased him; daughter Michelle who has a successful career; as does his son Matthew. Brian held a variety of jobs, but his love was driving the big rigs across country.

Brian is survived by his sister Beth Collins, daughter Michelle, son Matthew, two nephews Hunter and Jesse, as well as many great friends nationwide.

A Memorial Service will be held 4 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Condolences may be sent for the family at www.adamsmcfarlane.com.

  3. We were different guys back in the day but found a connection. I’ll always remember your jokes working at Goodwins, almost killing me when you turned your snowmobile (going almost 100mph) right before the stone wall, and sleeping overnight on your porch, only to find you curled up in the dryer. I know you are in a better place and send positive thoughts to your family. Rest easy old friend.
