Bruce A. Raynes (1950-2012)

WATERVILLE - Bruce A. Raynes, 62, died on Aug. 7, 2012 at his home in Waterville with his wife Heidi and sister Jane by his side.

He was born on April 10, 1950 in Waterville, the son of Nathan W. and Mildred E. (Butler) Raynes.

He attended schools in Waterville, then continued his education at MIT and Worchester Polytechnic Institute with a major in electrical engineering. He specialized in telephone/communications and worked for AT&T/Verizon. Over the years, Bruce had many hobbies and interests including membership in 1BEW Local 2327, an interest in computers and technology; enjoyed playing cribbage and photography.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Heidi Lee (Pettengill) Raynes of Waterville; son, Bruce A. Raynes II and partner, Katherine “Kat” Matson of San Diego; daughter, Melanie Molnar and husband Scott of South Portland; granddaughter, Natalie Molnar of South Portland; grandson, Samuel Molnar of South Portland; step daughters, Heather and Melanie Smith of Washington state; two sisters, Charlotte Oakes of Waterville, Jane Peatfield of Waterville; brother, David L. Raynes, Sr. and wife Lucienne of Winslow.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nathan and Mildred Raynes.

The family wishes to thank the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care "Team" for the wonderful care and support provided to Bruce and family throughout his treatment.
