STARKS – Carl Windsand Fellman, 63, passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on June 6, 2016.

He was born on July 16, 1952 in Ironwood, Mich., the son of Paul and Marie (Markert) Fellman.

He moved to Northbrook, Illinois in the late 1960s where he was loved by many and attended Glenbrook North and Graylake High School, graduating in the class of 1971. Carl’s adventures took him across the United States and a stint in Europe with his sister Holly and brother Paul (Buzz).

In 1976, he met Dori French and they married on May 5, 1979 in Wilmette, Illinois. They welcomed their first child, Tina in 1981, and moved to Maine in 1983, where they came to join the rest of the Fellman clan. They built their own home in Industry/Starks and welcomed their second child Stenn in 1984. Carl and Dori homesteaded for years.

Carl loved to hunt partridge and deer, and fish for brook trout. He enjoyed walking in the woods, telling stories while hanging out with his kids, their friends and close neighbors and family. Over the years, he was employed for East Parish Housing, Bass Shoe, Western Maine Community Action, R. L. French Paving, and Extel Corporation. He loved many of his fellow “do gooders” from the visiting work groups with East Parish Housing, helping to repair the homes of the disadvantaged in local communities.

Carl was a quiet, humble man and will be missed greatly by all those who loved him so dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Dori Fellman of Starks; his daughter, Christina Marie Fellman of Athens; his son, Stenn Anders Windsand Fellman and Jordyn of West Farmington; his sister, Holly Hudak of New Sharon; his brothers: Robert Windsand Fellman and Donna of Vienna, Paul (Buzz) Windsand Fellman and Laura Garson of New Sharon; his mother in-law, Dona French of Crystal Lake, IL; his brothers in-law, Ryan Lee French and Stacy of Lake in the Hills, IL, Ronald Douglas French and Emily Kramer of Crystal Lake, IL; his many nieces and nephews in Maine and Illinois who he loved; and the many, many close friends that made his life so special.

Donations may be made in Carl’s memory to the East Parish Housing Ministry, Inc, c/o Dori Fellman, 2014 Industry Rd., Starks, ME 04911.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
