CLINTON – Daniel A. Dumont, 63, passed away peacefully after a long illness on August 27, 2013, at home with his children and family by his side.
He was born on July 30, 1950 in Augusta, the son of Joseph A. and Gloria H. (Lajoie) Dumont. He attended Lou Buker, St. Augustine, Williams, and Cony High Schools in Augusta. Daniel was employed by Engineers Union in Fullerton, Calif. in the late ’70s, Wyman and Simpson Construction in Augusta, Maine in the early ’80s, Harold Warren Construction in Augusta in the mid to late ’80s, G&S Sand and Rock in Mayer, Ariz. off and on in the ’90s through 2006.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, pool, cribbage and cards.
Daniel is survived by four daughters, Deanne Beane and husband Lawrence of Manchester, Danielle Jellison and husband Victor of Gardiner, Jessica Dumont of Winslow, and Emily Dumont of Winslow; a son, Phillip Dumont of Belgrade; mother, Gloria Dumont of Clinton; five granddaughters; four grandsons; five brothers, Thomas Dumont of Clinton, Anthony Dumont of Augusta, Peter Dumont and wife Joyce of Oakland, Russell Dumont and wife Loralie of Augusta, Michael Dumont and wife Lorilee of Vassalboro; a sister, Susan Bennett and husband Gene of Clinton;a brother-in-la, Archie Towers of Clinton; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Dumont and sister, Donna Towers.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
