Dennis F. Palmer (1954 – 2013)

SKOWHEGAN – Dennis F. Palmer, 58, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, February 5, 2013 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor after fighting a progressive disease for a couple of years.

He was born May 9, 1954 in Skowhegan, the son of Ralph E. and Norma R. (Spofford) Palmer.

He was one of five children, and graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1972. He worked for Solon Manufacturing and as a handyman in the local area. Dennis was a simple man who appreciated the peaceful nature around him. He enjoyed being at camp, working on automobiles and the company of friends. Dennis was a warmhearted man and was very joyed about the arrival of a new grandchild. A piece of our family has been lifted away but his spirit will live through our memories.

Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Gail Palmer and significant other Charles Rollins III of Auburn, and Victoria Palmer and significant other Scott Goveni of Industry and their unborn child; mother, Norma Palmer of Skowhegan; brother, Neil Palmer of Marion CT; three sisters, Sharon Palmer of Skowhegan, Gail Pomerleau and husband Rick of Norridgewock, and Diane Guerette of Shawmut; half sister Marlene and Raoul Robichaud; grandson, Charles Rollins IV; six nieces; eight great nieces and nephews; long time friends, Robert Neil, Bob McCourt, Fred and Lois Varney.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the Somerset Humane Society, 123 Middle Road, PO Box 453, Skowhegan, Maine 04976.
