EUSTIS, Florida – Dexter Dana Eustis 69, of Eustis, FL, passed away on July 9, 2013.

He was born in Rumford, Maine and moved here in 2006 from Pinehurst, N.C. Dexter was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a veteran having served in the United States Army and the best pie maker in the world.

Dexter and his family are descendants of General Abraham Eustis, for whom the city is named. He was a retired inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

He was the son of the late Stowell and Dorothy Helen McGuire Eustis and is survived by his siblings; Stan Eustis of Raeford, N.C., Robert (Joanie) Eustis of Phillips, Maine, John (Eleanor) Eustis of Portland, Maine, Wallace (Mitsuko) Eustis of Mount Dora, Florida, Dorothy (Charles) Daniels of Raeford, N.C., Susan Clark of Lewiston, Maine and Rosemary (Greg) Timberlake of Raeford, North Carolina and 25 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 30 Weld Street, Dixfield. Relatives and friends are invited to call one hour prior to the services. Interment with full military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Dixfield. Condolences and tributes may be shared on his memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.

  1. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Rosemary and I were classmates and I have fond memories of Dexter, especially in the Footlighters Club at SHS. May all of your memories and God’s peace surround you during this time.

  4. Graduated with Dexter and have been in correspondence for some time on the family history. Found out a while back that after all these years we are in fact cousins.
    I will miss you Dexter, and may you rest in peace.
