She was born on Jan. 6, 1945, at her folks homestead in Wilton, a daughter of Frank and Dorothy (Butterfield) Beedy. She was a graduate of Wilton Academy and continued her education at Pelletier’s School of Beauty Culture in Lewiston. She was employed for a brief time at Nelliette’s Beauty Shop in downtown Wilton before owning her own salon, Diane’s Beauty Shop, in Farmington. She also was employed at G. H. Bass and enjoyed working at the front reception desk at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

On Feb. 1, 1963, she married her soulmate, George Weeks at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church in Farmington. Together, they enjoyed working the family farm and raising their three sons. In their early retirement years, they built a log home in Farmington with trees that had been lumbered from their own property.

She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church for over 30 years and served as a church pianist. She was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary and the Wilson Grange #321 of East Wilton. She enjoyed farm life and will be remembered for riding her horses in many local parades. Her piano playing was a true gift that in her later years was of great comfort to her. Diane enjoyed traveling with her husband, but her favorite place to be was on her front deck, overlooking this beloved land that she called home.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, George, of Farmington; three sons: Bryce and his wife, Carol Weeks of Wilton; Craig Weeks of Wilton and Shaun and his wife, Kathi Weeks of Carver, Mass.; eight grandchildren: Tyson Weeks and his wife, Chelsey; Ashley Gopsill and her husband, Tommy; Ben Weeks, Kourtney Weeks and her fiancé, Nathan; Brittany Weeks; Dakota Weeks; Abigail Weeks and Phoenix Weeks; two great grandchildren: Thomas Gopsill and Addison Weeks; a brother-in-law, Mike Weeks and his companion Kim Leighton of Gray; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Lake and her companion, Jerry Gilman of Mercer and Priscilla Beedy of Wilton; several nieces and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her folks and a brother, Robert “Bob” Beedy.
