Doris W. Chandler (1925-2016)

FARMINGTON – Doris W. Chandler, 91, of Jay, passed on her wedding anniversary, Saturday, May 28, at the Sandy River Center for Healthcare in Farmington.

She was born in Livermore Falls on May 11, 1925, a daughter of Ozem and Hattie (McKay) Wagner and received her education in local schools. On May 28, 1943, she married Hayden Chandler in Dryden. He died July 21, 1999.

She was employed at G.H. Bass for many years, was a faithful member of the Livermore Falls Church of the Nazarene, and enjoyed reading, crocheting and knitting, and visiting with relatives.

She is survived by sons, Kerry of New Hampshire and Bradley and his wife, Linda of Livermore Falls; a daughter-in-law, Dottie of Pennsylvania; a brother-in-law, Lawrence “Rusty” Lee of Weld; five grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter.

She was predeceased by a son, Larry. Condolences and tributes may be shared on her memorial wall at wilesrc.com.

Private interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Livermore Falls. Funeral services have been cared for and provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Road, Jay.

  1. I worked with your mother at Bass for many years. She was one of the nicest ladies that I had ever met. May you have many nice memories to keep and share with others. Jeanne
