NORRIDGEWOCK – Dorothy “Dorie” Kathleen Fickett, 85, passed away on July 26, 2015 at Redington Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1929, in Munro, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Lena (Rothman) Ieraci. On July 8, 1952, she married Roy E. Fickett in Staten Island, N.Y. Dorie loved being a full time mother and housewife. She was a long time member of Norridgewock Seventh Day Adventist Church. She enjoyed serving 17 years as treasurer of the church and Riverview Memorial School.

Dorie was a talented seamstress and artisan of many forms of needlework such as knitting and crocheting, and also loved stamping, and other crafts. Her family and friends were the lucky recipients of many of her handcrafts.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy E. Fickett of Norridgewock; son, Randal R. Fickett and wife Thea of Litchfield; daughter, Diana L. Wade and husband James of Norridgewock; grandson, Joshua D. Fickett of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three granddaughters: Heather L. Beckner and husband R. Michael Griffin of Leominster, Mass., Kimberly A. Beckner and husband Marcelo T. Silva of Hudson, N.H., Alyssa M. Alberico and husband David A. of Norridgewock.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Velma Prescott and Joanne Thompson.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Riverview Memorial School, 201 Mercer Rd, Norridgewock, ME 04957-4002.
