WATERVILLE – Dorothy Mae Dostie, 92, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Harbor Hills Center in Belfast.

Dorothy Dostie was born in Waterville on March 10, 1922, the daughter of James and Catherine (Closson) Terris. She married David J. Dostie on Jan. 14, 1950, of Waterville.

She was educated in the Waterville schools and worked for a number of years at Scott Paper. Dorothy had many interests and hobbies including taking trips with her daughter and grandchildren, crocheting, making puzzles, bowling, and hosting family gatherings.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Peggy Pooler and husband Roy of Waterville; two granddaughters, Donna Pooler of Waterville, Debra Joliceour and husband Jeff of Waterville; grandson Roy Pooler, Jr. of Waterville; two great grandsons, David Pooler and wife Jennie of Attleboro, Mass., Derek Joliceour and fiancé Dafnett Hicks of Merrimack, N.H.; great granddaughter, Danielle Joliceour of Waterville; great great grandchildren, Mariah McFarland, Madison Hinerman, and Whitney Pooler, all of Attleboro, Mass.

She was predeceased by her husband David J. Dostie, her son Frankie, parents James and Catherine Terris, and brother Frankie Terris.

Dorothy’s family would like to thank Sally Pooler, the nursing staff of Harbor Hills in Belfast; and Dr. Clark for the excellent care they provided for her in her final days.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 1 Park Street, Waterville, Maine. Interment at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Waterville.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make a donation in Dorothy’s memory to the Humane Society Waterville Area, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, Maine 04901.
