FARMINGTON – Earl Arnold Ross Sr., 82, of Rangeley, died on Oct. 7, 2014 at the Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1932 in Dallas Plantation, the son of Harold and Fay (Buzzell) Ross.

He was educated in the schools of Rangeley and Dallas Plantation. He married Gaylene Howard on September 28, 1963 in Phillips. Over the years, Earl was employed by Rodney Richards, Dallas Plantation, Town of Rangeley and Saddleback Mountain. He enjoyed cutting and splitting firewood for friends and relatives, hunting and fishing.

He loved spending time with his family, especially having cookouts and being with the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by; his wife of 51 years, Gaylene Ross of Dallas Plantation; his daughter, Mildred Bailey and Greg of Strong; his sons, Dale Howard of Avon, Harold Ross and fiance Debbie of Gratz, Pennsylvania, Earl Ross Jr. Of Dallas Plantation; his sister, Ernestine Savage of Farmington; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Rangeley Masonic Hall, 10 Richardson St., in Rangeley.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
