FREEMAN TOWNSHIP – Edward Gene Skibicki, 69, of Freeman Township, died on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at his home.

Ed was born on March 23, 1946 in Haverhill, Mass., a son of the late Bronislaw and Irene (Heroux) Skibicki.

He married Lucille Rheaume on Oct. 16, 1965, and together they shared 19 years of marriage until her passing. Ed enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1966, and served his country during the Vietnam War for 18 months, returning home in 1968. He was a survivor of the battle of hill 881.

Ed continued his education by attending college where he earned his PhD in chemistry. Ed worked as a chemist for Raytheon for many years.

He married Barbara Strain on Aug. 20, 1988.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara (Strain) Skibicki of Freeman Township; granddaughter, Sonya Skibicki of Freeman Township; siblings, Frances Davoli of Haverhill, Mass., Donna Muise of Haverhill, Mass., Judith Skibicki of Tucson, AZ, Bennie Skibicki of Hanover, Penn.; a great granddaughter, Winter-Storm Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 2, 2015, from 2  to 4 p.m. at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938. A funeral service will begin at 4 p.m. with Father James Martell officiating.
