MERCER — Edward Savage, 74 of Mercer passed away last week at his residence.

Edward was born in Anson, Maine on March 9, 1940 a son of Albert and Doris (Murray) Savage. Edward married his wife Joyce and made their home in Mercer where they shared many years of marriage before her passing several years ago. Edward spent his younger years working in the shoe manufacturing industry and enjoyed sharing stories from those days.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Edward enjoyed sharing his faith with others as he strongly believed in the Bible’s comforting promises for the near future of a paradise earth. He was an avid fisherman, and a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed caring for his gardens which included fruit trees and a bountiful potato patch. In his spare time, Ed had fun shopping at Marden’s, where he was always able to find a deal.

Edward is survived by his siblings, Cherris Sincyr, Virginia Savage, and Percy Savage; several nieces and nephews; and all of his extended family from the Kingdom Hall.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 266 Fairbanks Rd., Farmington, ME 04938. Tributes and condolences may be shared by visiting his memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.
