Gale was born March 10, 1953, a son of Norman and Lillian Waycott. He grew up in Calais and attended local schools.

Gale, affectionately known to some as “Dilly,” was a man with an unforgettable personality. He was caring, honest, reliable, and knew just the right thing to say to make others laugh. Gale was a Jack of all trades, but was particularly knowledgeable about computers and enjoyed spending time on his computer.

Gale was a loving person who did everything in his power to make others around him happy, especially his long-time, loving companion, Teresa Rowe. He helped Teresa with the fair circuit, assisting in transporting stands and equipment for Fred’s Foods. He was a teddy bear at heart and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his beloved animals, Jake, his dog, and Charlie his Macaw bird.

Left to cherish his memory is his companion of 13 years, Teresa Rowe of East Dixfield; children: Karen Waycott, David Waycott, Carrie Waycott, Gale Waycott Jr., Brenda Midgett, Donna Spear, Shelby Labranche, and Kelly Jo Labranch; step-children: Amy Hinkley, Andy Harris, D’Kota Rowe, and Hannah Rowe; siblings: Cindy Polk and her husband, Phil, Robert Waycott and his wife, Ann, Susie Brown and her husband Gerald, and June Kinney and her husband, Ronald; brother-in-law, Ronnie Gilmore; 17 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; children: Nancy Waycott, Tina Waycott, and Daniel Waycott; and siblings: Norman Waycott, Roger Waycott, Judy Barry, Paul Waycott, and Mary Mason. Tributes and condolences may be shared by visiting his memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com.

A public memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938. Following the service, all are welcome to a gathering being held at Amy Hinkley’s home in Wilton.
