Georgia Norene Hall (1916-2011)

CANTON – Georgia Norene Hall, 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 19, 2011 at the Victorian Villa where she was lovingly cared for as a resident for many years.

She was born June 27, 1916 in Lang Plantation, a daughter of Arthur and Winona (Bachelder) Myshrall. She attended schools at Flagstaff, Rangeley and Stratton. At 18, Norene married Elwood (Alec) Huntoon. At 32, she divorced him and then met her second husband Louis R. Hall.

Norene helped raise his four sons in the town of Andover where she and Louis also bought and ran the L. R. Hall General Store for many years. To her community and friends, she was flawlessly loyal, often extending credit at the store to those in need and giving folks time to regain more sure footing.

She was predeceased by her two brothers, Neil and Wesley Myshrall and her two young little girls, Marie and Winona M.

She will be remembered as a mother and mentor figure to many as she worked as waitress, store owner, shoe shop worker, literacy volunteer, tutor and helped many obtain their G.E.D.

She is survived by her sister, Janice Tague who resides at Pinewood Terrace in Farmington; a half brother, Arthur Myshrall, Jr. of Andover; two half sisters; Joanne Mcnabb of Oklahoma and Barbara Yates of Bethel, many nieces, nephews and descendants of the Bachelder family in the Franklin County area.
