WARTERVILLE – James L. Hancock, 95, passed away on July 17, 2014 at his home in Waterville surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 23, 1919, in Waterville, the son of Earl J. and Lillian G. (Daggett) Hancock. He graduated from Waterville High and attended Colby College. He was a member of the Pleasant Street United Methodist Church.
James is survived by his son, Richard of Fairbanks, Alaska; three daughters: Margaret Moan, Ellen Mastrofillippo, both of Framingham, Mass., Harriet Brown and husband Bruce of Waterville; special grandson, Anthony James Brown of Portland; two nieces, Martha Gioia of Aptos, California, and Vanessa Carson of Newport.
He was predeceased by his wife, Frances.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation hours or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations in his memory to the Waterville Humane Society, 100 Webb Rd., Waterville, ME 04901.
