WATERVILLE – On May 2, 2016, James P. Grenier in the presence of his wife Marianne, sons Thomas and Real, niece Robin Young and husband Alex, past peacefully after a four-year battle with cancer.

Jim had a strong work ethic and always put his family first. He loved riding his Harley, and was a big fan of the New England Patriots and NASCAR No. 48 Jimmy Johnson.

Jim married his wife Marianne in Germany in 1969 while serving in the U.S. Army. After, returning began working for his father in the flooring business and switched to construction. Prior to his retirement in 2012, Jim worked for Peachy Builders in Augusta.

He was predeceased by his father Real Joseph Grenier, mother Gloria M. Grenier and brother/godson David A. Grenier.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Marianne, son Thomas and family and son Real, wife Carrie and grandson Christian (the apple of Jim’s eye). He leaves behind three sisters: Patti, Carol and Donna and their families; six brothers: Robert, Richard (Dickie), Steven, Mark, Danny and Jeffery and their families. Also his extended family on his wife’s side in Germany, Hans-Karl, Ingrid, Gunter, Carmen, Timo and Nico.

He will be missed by many people that he touched. A graveside service will be held at St. Francis cemetery in Waterville on Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m.

In lieu of flowers Jim asked for donations to be sent to the Humane Society Waterville Area, 100 Webb Road, Waterville, Maine 04901
