STRONG – Janice “Jan” Ann Lambert Hansen, 71, passed away on Jan. 7, 2017 from complications of a stroke.

She was the youngest child and only daughter of the late Laura Worthley Lambert and James Lambert, born in Strong, Maine on Nov. 10, 1945.

She had been living in central Maryland for the past 33 years but always considered Strong her home.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Nancy Lambert of Wells;  her aunt Mont Lambert of Strong; her daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Randall Mayrovitz of Columbia Maryland; her son Christopher Odom of Laurel, Maryland; her son and son-in-law Babatu Hansen and Joseph Perry of Long Beach, Calif.

She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well numerous well-loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is planning for a memorial service in Strong, in mid-June. Details will be provided when available.

  1. Cousin Jan was a very talented gal. Great memories of our youth growing up in our beloved “Home Town”. My mom and dad stood up with Uncle Jim and Aunt Laura when they were married. Blessings to her Family. Roger Lambert and Family

  2. I never met Janice when I was growing up but did know Jim because he used to come to visit us when he came to Temple on Saturday nights. He was a cousin to my mother. My prayers for Janices family. Rip Janic you are now pain free and peaceful

    As a young girl I spent some summer vacations at my Grandmother’s in Strong, she lived across the road
    from Janice’s house and beside Probert’s MKT….going to Janice house I remember her mother Laura had a bakery in her front room, sure smelled great and we would get cookies
    I thought She had two of the cutest brothers, I think I was probably 10 or 12 years old
    There was a few gals that played together: Janice, Nanette Starbird, Sherry Timberlake and me Gloria (Esty)
    Nile. We all grew up and went our separate ways and never knew where they all went.

  4. Sorry to hear about Janice. It has been a long time since I have seen her but we went to Strong High School together..Also we are distant cousins..RIP Janice.. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

  5. When we were in high school, a bunch of us girls used to walk over to Janice’s house at noontime to watch soap operas. She was so welcoming and we had a great time!

  6. Condolences to Janice’s family. She and I chummed around together some. I remember we used to babysit Rev. Kjenstad’s kids during church services. We had a lot of laughs together.

  7. My loving prayers and warm thoughts to my cousins – Jennifer, Chris and Babatu. Your Mom was a kind and loving niece to my Mom. I enjoyed many good times with her in Strong, Natick and Waltham. Her legacy will live on in your hearts. Love to all.
