NEW VINEYARD – Jason Hickey (Hector) of New Vineyard, was taken from us suddenly on March 12 of natural causes.

Jason was the son of Michael and Patricia Hickey of Farmington. He was born April 9, 1972 in Attleboro, MA. Jason attended elementary school in Norton, MA until he moved to Industry, Maine in 1986. Jason graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1990. In 1991 Jason Joined the Navy, where he proudly served his country in the Mediterranean Sea.

After his time in service, Jason returned to the Farmington area where he has built his life. In 1996 he became the proud father of his son Alex.

Jason was a fun-loving social butterfly. He loved all people and animals and babies adored him. He was a perfect partner, a great dad, brother, and a wonderful son, grandson and nephew, and he was the best uncle ever! He was a loyal friend to all who knew him. Jason has spent the last 9 months building the home he has always dreamed of, along side his soul mate and best friend Betsy. He loved to icefish, garden, and ride his motorcycle. He has spent many hours riding in the memory of others. He loved his burn parties where he would burn brush piles the size of skyscrapers, and he did enjoy his beers with them too. He had a great sense of humor, a huge heart of gold and a contagious smile. He’s the kind of guy that was loved by everyone. He leaves behind a devastated community of friends and family that will miss him dearly every day.

Jason was a proud member of the Elks Club and the United Bikers of Maine.

Jason is survived by his son Alex, his parents, Mike and Patty, “His Betsy”, brother Mike and wife Kristin, sister Amy Lynn, Nephews Mikey, Nick and wife Sierra, and Thomas. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and loving friends.

  4. The world was better with Jason in it. He was the most genuine person I ever knew. Always brightened the room when he walked in it. My heart goes out to his family and all who knew him. Not even sure what else to say. Those of you who know him get it though. I still can’t believe he’s gone.
