ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Jeffrey Lynn Dunham, 69, formerly of Avon and Wilton, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2020 in Zephyrhills, Fla.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1950, son of Montell and Gladys (Knowles) Dunham. Jeff graduated from Phillips High School in the class of 1968, then completed his associate degree at the University of Maine at Orono in 1970.

On Dec. 4, 1971, Jeff married Anita Chase and she predeceased him on June 21, 2018.

Over the years, he worked at Forster Manufacturing, Timberland Sales and Service, Irving Lumber and Wal-Mart Distribution Center. Jeff was a member of Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge #67 in Phillips. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races and NFL games, and playing Bingo. During the summer months, he spent a lot of time at Dummer’s Beach Campground in Weld.

Jeff is survived by his son, Desmond Dunham and daughter in-law, Heather Dunham of Livermore Falls; and his companion, Maureen Stuart Miller of Wesley Chapel, Fla.

There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

  1. So sorry to hear about Jeff’s passing, he was a wonderful guy, he refereed a lot of my kids basketball games years ago, and was a wonderful neighbor at Dummer’s Beach.

  5. Condolences to his family and friends. Spent many hours playing basketball with him in the Phillips gym. He was a “lowly” freshman at the time. Loved to shoot. 😊

  7. I grew up next door to Jeff, our Mom’s we great friends. Rember him getting married and the light of his eyes when Desmond was born. All around great guy. Seems like it was just yesterday, how time flies. My sincere condolences to all who knew him. RIP Jeff.

    many great memories of refereeing basketball games with Jeff both in Youth League games and he helped me a great deal with the Men’s League that I ran. I enjoyed his friendship. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jeff reffed the adult basketball league games i played in for years…a difficult task when dealing with older, out of shape egos, but Jeff had a way…..i questioned, rather vocally, a foul he called on me and asked how many technical fouls one can have during a game…he said 2 and i’d just surrendered half of them…..although i didnt know Jeff personally, we always had a nice chat whenever we met…..a very nice man….RIP
