MADISON – Joanne Barbara Spaulding, 81, passed away on Aug. 21, 2016, at Maplecrest Rehab & Living Center in Madison.
She was born on June 21, 1935, in Fairfield, the daughter of Leon and Frances (Smith) Wentworth.
She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Waterville and enjoyed growing plants, collecting angels and caring for her cockatiels (birds).
Joanne is survived by two sons: Ronald L. Spaulding and wife Jo of Madison and Everette Spaulding, Jr. and wife Betsy of Wilton; daughter, Victoria E. Spaulding of Virginia; sisters: Joyce, Shirley, and Patty; three grandsons: Ronald R. Spaulding and wife Tasha of Madison, Joshua Spaulding of Madison, Christopher Spaulding of Palmyra; great grandsons: Jordan and Jaden Spaulding, and Caleb O’Brien-Spaulding.
She was predeceased by her husband, Everette R. Spaulding; parents; three sons: Russell, Robert, and Jammie Spaulding; sisters: Helen, Louise, Lila, and Debbie; brother, Berchard.
The family wishes to thank Beacon Hospice and the devoted staff at Maplecrest along with Dr. Christopher Smith for their care and compassion during her stay there.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield with Joanne’s grandson, Ronald R. Spaulding officiating.
