JAY — John Dana Davis, 62, of Jay, formerly of Rockland, died unexpectedly on April 26, 2016.

John was born Oct. 1, 1953, in Rockland, a son of Willard Estabrook and Frances (Dow) Ingerson. He grew up in Rockland and Bingham and graduated from Upper Kennebec Valley High School in 1972. After graduation, John entered into the United States Army and proudly served his country for three years during Vietnam.

He worked as a sales representative and driver for Humpty Dumpty and later worked as a roofer. He lived in Rockland and Waterville and most recently lived with his brother, Al Davis. John was a member of the Amvets post #33 in Jay and was a social person who enjoyed being in the company of others. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. John will be remembered for his generous spirit and good heart.

John is survived by his children, Shawn Davis and his wife, Shelley of Montville, Toby Davis of Belmont, and Benjamin Davis of MA; previous wife, Rhoda Fields of Montville; siblings, Albert Davis and his wife Tammy of Jay, Tommy Ingerson and his partner, Michelle Benner of Cushing, Wendy Wagenknech and her husband Hans of Rockland, Cindy Wandell and her husband Brian of Rockport, Bonnie Davis of Rockland, Kathy Estabrook of Rockland, Diane Bouchard and her husband Raymond of Brunswick, and Barbara Parker and her husband Ensley of Rockland; 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and special niece, Sage Kennedy.

He was predeceased by a sister, Lori Thomas.
