EUSTIS – Joseph Vito Isgro, 92, of Eustis, passed away on Jan. 6, 2019 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

He was born on March 5, 1926, in Trenton, NJ, the son of Orazio and Virginia (Mulinaro) Isgro.

Joseph graduated from high school in Jobstown, New Jersey in 1939. On April 13, 1947, he married Ruth Nehlsen in Hainesport, New Jersey. Joseph was a carpenter by trade, who learned construction and masonry, so that he could build a house from the ground up. He and his partner, Dave Phoebus, built the Arneys Mount, New Jersey custom home development. In his later years, Joseph learned to hand carve animals and birds, winning many awards through the years.

Joseph is survived by; his wife of 72 years, Ruth Isgro of Eustis; two daughters, Sandra Isgro of Eustis and Debra Gadzia of Shamong, NJ; four granddaughters; and eight great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at 1 p.m., at the White Wolf Inn, 146 Main St., in Stratton. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
