On July 24, 1948, she married the love of her life, Gilbert J. Barnaby, Sr. in Ticonderoga, NY. In 1965, they moved to Jay, Maine, where they raised their three children and shared their love of the outdoors with them. Joyce was a communicant of the St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Frank L. Mitchell VFW Post 3335 in Jay, and she was also a member of the Super Seniors bowling league for many years.
We will always remember her joy of cooking, along with her self-taught seamstress skills, but most of all, her kindness. Gatherings of family and friends meant a great deal to her. She loved the outdoors; she loved fishing, camping, hunting, archery, snowmobiling, dancing, bingo, and bowling. Joyce and Gilbert thoroughly enjoyed their log cabin on Chain of Ponds for many years.
