Keith E. Bubar (1935-2012)
HARTLAND - Keith E. Bubar, 76, died May 16, 2012 at the Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville. He was born in Fort Fairfield on May 22, 1935, the son of Kenneth Eldon and Greta Elizabeth (Barnes) Bubar.
He was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps, then met and married Marleen Hart on August 7, 1954 in St. Albans. Keith had 38 years of service at Irving Tanning, served on the board of selectman for the town of Hartland for many years and was also a member of the Hartland school board for several years. Over the years he had many interests and hobbies including horse racing, was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and loved woodworking. During his high school years he was a member of the State Championship baseball team for Hartland Academy.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marleen (Hart) Bubar of Hartland; 3 sons, John Bubar and wife Julie of Rockport, MA, Vernon Bubar and wife Donna of York, Randy Bubar of North Anson; 2 daughters, Belinda Fletcher of Hartland, Bonnie Bubar of Hartland; 3 sisters, Tressa Nelson of Hampden, Marie Hopkins of St. Albans, Darlene Boyd of Hartland; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Greta Bubar, 2 brothers, 1 grandson and 1 great grandson.
A graveside service will be held Sunday May 27, 2012 at 8 a.m. at the Jordan (Starbird) Cemetery in Hartland. At the request of the family there will be no visitation hours.
