FARMINGTON – Leroy O. Gordon Jr., 76, passed away on Dec. 7, 2018, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born on Sept. 9, 1942, in Farmington, the son of Leroy, Sr. and Hazel (Walsh) Gordon. He was educated in the schools of West Mills and Farmington.

Leroy married Alberta Oliver on Nov. 5, 1967. In his early years, Leroy worked in the woods and at the Wilton Tannery; then for many years, he was employed at Dummers Beach in Weld, before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. Leroy was always busy helping others.

Leroy is survived by; his wife of 51 years, Alberta Gordon of Farmington; two sons, Brian Gordon and companion Kathy of Chesterville, Roy Lee Gordon and companion Gloria of Vassalboro; two daughters, Bessie Hiscock and companion Roger of Farmington, Eleanor Lee and husband Steve of Wilton; three sisters, Shirley Robinson of Farmington, Patsy Gordon and companion Ron of Temple, and Irene Gordon of Wilton; thirteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Leroy and his grandson, Seth Gordon, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Temple Town Hall, 258 Temple Road, in Temple. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

  1. It is a sad day when a man like Leroy Gordon passes. He was one of the good guys, never judgemental and always there to help out a neighbor in need. So sorry to hear of this loss I really had my fingers crossed for him.

  4. So very sorry for your loss to Leroy’s family and friends. I only knew Leroy for a short time. I had the priviledge working with him at Dummers Beach Campground. He was a joy to be around. He was such a dedicated and hard worker. He will be missed. He will always be in my thoughts and in my heart… RIP Dear Leroy.
