Lorraine J. Filling

FARMINGTON - Lorraine J. Filling, 84, passed away on March 8, 2019, at Sandy River Center.

She was born on April 18, 1934, in Farmington, the daughter of Edward and Mercy (Young) Berry. She was educated in the schools of Randolph and Gardiner, Maine.

On June 6, 1981, Lorraine married Louis Filling and he predeceased her on Aug. 23, 1992.

For 25 years, Lorraine worked at G.H. Bass Co. in Wilton, and then for several years at the Farmington Motel as a desk clerk. She was a member of the Mt. Phillips Grange in Rome, Maine. Lorraine enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, and cooking.

Lorraine is survived by her son, Timothy Frost and wife Karen of Phenix, Alabama; her daughters, Mary Seath of Auburn, Mercy Smith and husband Doug of Auburn; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many of her close friends in Temple.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Filling; son, Michael Wedge; sisters, Mary Grant and Jeanette McKenna; and brother, George “Sonny” Berry.

On Saturday, March 16, 2019, visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m., at Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938. Interment will be on June 2, 2019 at the Filling Cemetery in Temple.

  1. How very sad. I used to work with Lorraine at Ames Department Store many years ago. She was a very nice lady. My condolences to her family.

  2. Lorraine's not home...she's gone fishing with Lou on the "Sweet Lorraine" ...oh how those days bring back great memories down on Bailey and Orr's Island Maine. I will miss her smile and SASSY lady in a good way...
    My heart pours out to all her family...she was tired and wanted to go fishing with Lou again...well now they can...
