WATERVILLE – Lorraine Rita (Grenier) Sirois, 86, passed away on July 24, 2016 at Woodlands Assisted Living Center in Waterville, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 9, 1930 in Augusta, the daughter of Archie and Alice (Bilodeau) Grenier. She attended the Augusta area schools until reaching the seventh grade, when she left school to go to work to help support her large family. On June 30, 1952, she married Robert A. Sirois at St. Augustine Church in Augusta. She was employed for 29 years at the Bates Cotton Mill until it closed, then she worked at Carlton Woolen Mill in Winthrop until her retirement.
Lorraine was a long time member of Notre Dame Church in Waterrville and was involved in many community functions and civic activities in Florida with friends. She retired and moved to Florida for 20 years until the death of her husband when she moved back to Maine and lived at Seton Village.
She is survived by her son, James R. Sirois of Sidney; daughter, Linda Bouchard and husband Leo of Oakland; Stephanie Reardon and husband Korey of Benton; Nicholas Bouchard and wife Courtney of Old Town; Tracy Taggart of New Hampshire; Danielle Buebank and husband Dan of Belgrade; James Sirois and wife Cassey of Winslow; Jospeh Garlock; Jacob Bowden; Johnny Bowden; eight great grandchildren; sister, Connie Bowie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Sirois; parents; brothers, Emery, Ralf, Raoul, Alfred and Norman; sisters, Emeline Lamontagne, Julie Greenleaf, Jean Myer, Lily Stoddard.
The family would like to thank both staff and management at the Woodlands Assisted Living and Beacon Hospice for the loving care you have provided for Lorraine.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Notre Dame Parish in Waterville. Interment will be at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery in Augusta at the convenience of the family.
