FARMINGTON – Madeline Agnes Tripp, 88, passed away on Feb. 16, 2019 at Sandy River Center.

She was born on Aug. 26, 1930 in Lincoln, the daughter of Earl and Ethel (Severance) Burrill. Madeline attended elementary school in Lincoln and Eastern Maine Institute in Springfield. Over the years she worked as a mother’s helper (in Massachusetts), a photo shop clerk in Bangor, housekeeping at sporting camps and a child care provider. For 20 years, she worked during potato harvest season. Madeline attended various churches. She enjoyed gardening and canning, hunting, fishing, camping, day trips and loved to knit. But most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family.

Madeline is survived by; her children, Beverly Blanchard of Strong, Solomon Shaw of Hersey, Ronald Shaw of Lagrange, Dean Shaw of Hersey, Suzanne Smith of Wisconsin, and Hazen Shaw; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren; her siblings, Flora Mushero of Enfield, Charlie Burrill of Carroll, Virginia Downs of Lincoln, Marcia Severance of Springfield, George Burrill of Carroll, Josephine Hopkins of Lincoln, Ruby Thurlow of Lincoln, Peter Burrill of Carroll, David Burrill of Carroll, and John Burrill of Codyville; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Ethel Burrill; her husbands, Frank Shaw and Luther Tripp; her siblings, Oliver (Douglas), Basil, Zara, Earl Jr., Robert, James (Sonny), Gladys, Benoni, and Benjamin.

A graveside service will be held in Winn, Maine later in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
