CHESTERVILLE – Marilyn T. (Pergolizzi) Dussich (Mema), 74, passed away on April 25, 2015, after bravely battling cancer in her home in Chesterville with her daughter Josette and son-in-law Rick Billian by her side.

Marilyn leaves behind her two children, daughter Josette Billian and son-in-law Rick, and her son, John Pergolizzi and daughter-in-law Frances; as well as her step children Keith Dussich, Scott Brusa and step daughter-in-law Lisa. Marilyn (Mema) also leaves her grandchildren Richard and Matthew Billian, their wives Brandi and Yvonne, Andrea Pergolizzi-Baker and husband Moses and Toni Janelle Pergolizzi; great-grandchildren Rick and Anna and two unborn great-grandchildren whom she was aware of and loved already. Marilyn also leaves behind two sisters, a brother, and much extended family and friends.

Marilyn was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 16, 1940. She graduated high school from Franklin K. Lane. She was 16 years of age, beautiful with long black hair when she met her first husband, and father of her children, John at the candy store. They married on June 11, 1960, and raised their two children in Ozone Park, N.Y. They relocated and moved to Jupiter, Florida in 1976.

Marilyn furthered her education by attending Palm Beach Junior College where she studied accounting and received an associate’s degree. For fun she enjoyed clogging with her daughter Josette and grandson Ricky. She loved to read and loved gardening. She was widowed in Dec. 1993 when she lost her husband John to cancer. They were married for 33 years. She then met her second husband Joe Dussich while attending a bereavement group. They married March 21, 1998. Marilyn sadly lost Joe to cancer as well in 2006. They were married for 8 years.

Marilyn retired and gave of her time in volunteering at a nursing home in the activities department in Jupiter, Florida. She also enjoyed going to her yoga classes. In June 2013 she moved to Maine where she was a member of North Chesterville Extension Homemakers.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 (Marilyn’s 75th birthday) at the Chesterville Town Hall at 1 p.m.  Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Condolences may be sent for the family at www.adamsmcfarlane.com.

  1. I remember meeting your mom shortly after she moved to this area. Her smile and warm personality reminded me of you – I can see where you got it from. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Josette. May your memories of her help you through this difficult time and bring you peace.
