PASADENA, Texas – Marion Wheeler Filaroska, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, in Pasadena, Texas.

She was born on May 9, 1926, in Chesterville, Maine, to Fredic and Edith Wheeler. Marion graduated from Farmington High School in Farmington and later from Boston College. She worked at Horn’s Motor and later for MSAD 9.

On April 3, 1948, she married Francis Filaroska in Farmington where they made their home for many years and raised their family. She was a creative and talented artist painting many canvases left to her family. She would send weekly to her grandchildren recipes and puzzles. She was an avid Houston Astros and Houston Rockets fan.

She is survived by sons: John Filaroska and wife Debbie of Pasadena Texas, James Filaroska of Houston Texas and Joseph Filaroska of West Farmington; daughters: Anne Trottier and husband Paul of West Bath, Jane Filaroska Bashir and husband Mohammed of Houston, Texas and Nancy Abssi and companion Randall Boivin of Jay; grandchildren: Stacey Files and husband Leo of Hebron, Amanda Ali and husband Eddie of Hebron,  Matthew Trottier of Newton Mass., Amir Abssi of Houston, Texas, Jeffrey Trottier of Houston, Texas, Kalila Abssi of Auburn,  Chase and Lauren Filaroska of Houston, Texas; great grandchildren: Maya Chappell and Julia Files of Hebron and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents and beloved husband Francis and her two daughters Mary Lou and Margaret, and brother and sisters.

Funeral services were held at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, on Thursday Jan. 28, 2016. A memorial mass will be held this summer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Farmington, with interment to follow.

  3. Francis was a wonderful, loving lady and will be missed by many friends. She lived a great life and I extend my sympathy to her family.
