WATERVILLE – Marlene M. Caron, 80, of Waterville, passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on June 19, 2015.

She was born in Waterville on Aug. 3, 1934, a daughter of the late Lena Ricker-Mower. She married George “Chee-Chee” Caron on Nov. 5, 1952. They were married until 1999 when he passed away after a long illness.

Marlene was the backbone of the family. She enjoyed cooking on Saturdays and holidays when the family gathered together. Family was always her first priority.

Marlene is survived by her children Laury A. Caron, Michael G. Caron, both of Waterville; grandchildren, Selena M. Kumar of Waterville, Christopher E. and Megan Caron of Oakland, Patrick and Heather Caron of Bath, Jason Caron and Tarsha Savage of Readfield, Annie Caron of Oakland and Dorothy Courimer of Benton; great grandchildren, Anthony S. Carpenter of Waterville, Shivianni Rain-Sharma Kumar of Rhode Island, Hope Seguin of Moscow, Miah and Anthony Caron of Bath, Ashton Caron and Brayden Mayo of Oakland, Paige Dylan, Halily and Achen Savage; sister-in-law, Laura Ricker of Fairfield and Major Sylvester of Waterville; several nieces and nephews; close family friend, Debra Dyer of Litchfield and Dave Taylor of Chelsey.

She was predeceased by her husband George “Chee-Chee” Caron; brother, Larry Ricker; Aunt Marie and Henry King.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Maine Veteran’s Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 Moody Street, Waterville, following the graveside service.
