SOLON – Michael Lee Owens, 55, passed away July 9, 2014 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.
He was born ON April 11, 1959 in Waterville, the son of Donald and Lorraine (LeBrun) Owens.
He was educated in local area schools and graduated from Waterville High School in 1976. He was a former cook for area nursing homes, bakery, and restaurants. He was an avid Nascar fan (Kyle Busch was a favorite driver) and NFL football fan (New York Giants), enjoyed fishing, and camping, and being with his family.
Michael is survived by his spouse, Kelly (Mullins) Hanson of Solon; his daughter, Melissa Owens and partner Joe Reynold of Columbia, TN; two step sons, Travis Hanson and partner Becky Fillmore of Milo, and Brandon Hanson of Bangor; mother, Lorraine (LeBrun) Owens of Waterville; sister, Darlene Owens of Waterville; four grandsons, Jonathan and Nathanial Reynolds of Columba, Tenn., Donevin Fillmore of Dover Foxcroft, Leland McKusick of Milo; granddaughter, Mariah Hanson of Milo; two nephews, Aaron Owens and partner Alisha of Waterville, Ryan Owens of Waterville; beloved pets, Maggie, Hannah, and Cookie.
He was predeceased by his father Donald Owens.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
