LEWISTON – Norman James Barker, 61, of Stratton passed away on April 24, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1953 in Farmington, the son of Clarence and Theresa Barker. Norman worked for M.D.O.T for over 20 years before his retirement. He loved to tinker on snowmobiles, collecting and reselling them.
He enjoyed going on vacations, riding roller coasters with his daughter, fishing (especially trolling), and particularly loved to be outside. One of Norman’s hobbies was to go to yard sales and look for “keepable” stuff at the transfer station. He loved spending time with friends, watching and playing baseball, but most of all Norman enjoyed the time he spent with his daughter and two grandchildren whom he loved very much, and spending time with his two toy poodle dogs Troy and Molly (they were a huge part of his life and kept him going).
Norman is survived by his daughter Charlotte Barker and her fiancee Paul Keaten; two grandchildren Aubrieann and Brennan Keaten; parents Clarence and Theresa Barker; sister Kathy Barker; and brothers Ron Barker, Dan Barker, Jim Barker, and Billy Austin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Stratton. Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Condolences may be sent for the family at www.adamsmcfarlane.com.
