FARMINGTON – Norris Benjamin Chick, 79, passed away on Aug. 27, 2016 at the Sandy River Center in Farmington with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1937, in Industry, the son of Freeman and Hazel (Mason) Chick. He attended school in Industry. In his early years, he was employed as a lumberman and by Fred O. Smith, and later on for Central Maine Power.

Norris enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching wildlife, working on old cars and attending car shows, going to lawn sales and visiting pawn shops.

He loved fresh cut flowers, especially from his sister, Abbie Tracy’s garden. Eating out, going to barbecues, spending time and telling stories with his kids brought him great joy.

He is survived by his sisters: Abbie Tracy of New Sharon, Geneva Coats and husband Richard of Livermore; his brothers: Edward Chick and companion Jackie Boulette of Strong, Freeman Chick and wife Rachel of Industry; his daughter, Elizabeth Humphry of Florida; his son, Edward Chick of Lewiston; many nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion, Christine Hafford of Monmouth.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Evelyn Osborne of Industry.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at the North Farmington Cemetery, Town Farm Road, in Farmington.

  1. I remember Norris when I was little, he use to come to our house in Hebron and he and my dad would be crazy together. He was always so nice and funny. Sorry for your loss.
