JAY – Randall E. Porter, 61, passed away at his home in Jay on July 22, 2015.

He was born on April 30, 1954, in Farmington, the son of Keith Porter and Aster Littlefield, and grandson of Earsel and Marion Porter. He graduated from Mt. Blue High School in the class of 1972.

On April 19, 1975, he married Kathleen Carter at the Bean’s Corner Church in Jay. As a teenager, Randy worked at local farms and at Osgoods where he worked on silos. Later on, he was employed at K& H Fosters, Cianbro Construction, DL Punch, and AV Construction. Over the years he was a member of the Chesterville and Pittsfield Fire Departments, and the Chesterville Grange.

Randy enjoyed tinkering in his garage, teaching his grandsons how to repair lawnmowers, hunting and fishing, racing on Sundays, and playing with his dog. On weekends in the summer, he loved going to his uncle’s camp.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen Porter of Jay; his daughters, Susan Lemieux and husband Joe of Mt. Vernon, Stacy Couture and husband Keith of Farmington; his grandsons, Kyle and Trevor Couture of Farmington; his dog, Hersey; his mother, Aster Littlefield; his father in-law, Raymond Carter; his sisters, Dorian Jones, Lillian Mcbean, Debbie Bartlett, Bonnie Bor; his brothers, Everett Bartlett, Jimmy Littlefield, Benny Porter, Donald Bartlett, Ronnie Bartlett; his sister in-law Kristeen Merchant; his brother in-law Kenneth Carter; many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Randy’s memory to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015 at the Living Waters Assembly of God Church, 547 Wilton Rd., Farmington at 11 a.m., with Pastor Steve Bracy officiating. A gathering will follow at the church. Interment will be at 3 pm at the East Jay Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.
