AUGUSTA – Randall Lew Williams, “Randy,” 51, of Augusta, formerly of Farmington, passed away in his sleep on Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at his home in Augusta.

Randall
Randy Williams

He was born on March 29, 1963, the only son of Bernard Leo and Patricia Louise (Taylor) Williams. He received his education in Farmington schools and was a 1981 graduate of Mt. Blue High School.

He was employed at G. H. Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton before working with his dad in the family business, Bernard L. Williams Trucking. Though Randy was gifted at tinkering on mechanical equipment, his true passion was his self-taught air brushing artwork. He owned Paradise Signs in Augusta and for many years worked the fair circuit with Smokey’s Greatest Shows. His airbrush artwork can be found on clothing, leather jackets, murals and vehicles. His joy came from making people happy with his artistic talent.

Randy will be remembered for his ready grin, the twinkle in his eye and his self-contentment. He is perhaps best described by his family and friends as being a classic example of ‘MacGyver’.

He is survived by his mother, Patricia “Pat” Williams of Waterville; his father, Bernard Williams and his wife, Betty of Chesterville; three sisters: Karen Jones and her husband, Andy of Falmouth and their children, Zach, Jill and Ben; Ann Marie Williams of Saco and her children, Josh Adams and Kelsey Adams and Becky McKinley and her husband, Robert “Bob” of Waterville and son, Colby; stepsisters, Laurie and Lisa and his special, long time and card-playing friends, Alan Gilcott, Tracy Rudge, Jamie Gilcott, Dereck Oltz, Dan Allen, Dave Hayes and Brad Blaisdell of Augusta.

Family and friends are invited to attend a public memorial visitation on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 1-4 p.m., at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., (Rtes. 2 & 27) Farmington.  Remembrance gifts may be given to the Augusta Boys & Girls Club for Teens, 22 Armory Street, Augusta, ME 04330.

Condolences and tributes may be shared on his memorial wall at www.wilesrc.com, where his memorial video may also be viewed beginning next Saturday. Private family burial in the springtime at the Webster Cemetery, Rte. 156, Farmington.
