Robert E. Gudbrandsen (1937-2015)

FARMINGTON – Robert Edward Gudbrandsen, 78, died on Nov. 10, 2015 at his home in Farmington.

He was born on June 21, 1937, in Dorchester, Mass., the son of Haakon and Dorothy (Clough) Gudbrandsen. Robert attended Revere High School in Revere, Mass. and graduated in 1955. He then continued his education at the University of Massachusetts, Stockbridge School of Agriculture, graduating in 1957 and with a BS in Animal Husbandry.

After the completion of school Robert bought his farm in Farmington and had a successful dairy farm for a number of years. After that, he obtained his master electricians license and worked for various commercial construction sites throughout the east coast and midwest locations, retiring in the early 2000s. Robert married Susan Wales in 1974 in Farmington and had two daughters, Annah and Sarah.

Robert is survived by two daughters, Annah Gudbrandsen of Calif., Sarah Gudbrandsen Green and husband Mark of Calif.; granddaughter, Miriam Susanne Green of Calif.; sisters, Dorothy Gudbrandsen Rinaldi of North Carolina and Lois Gudbrandsen King of Arizona; brothers Donald Gudbranden of Florida, George Gudbranden of Maine; countless cousins and family members too numerous to mention.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

  2. I’ll always be grateful to Bob for all his help and advice when I was building my farm in Anson. He and Susie were married a week after Carol and I were in July 1974. We had many good times then. Kind regards to his family.
