LEWISTON – Robert M. Adams of Livermore Falls, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Central Maine Medical Center following heart surgery.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1936 in Wilton, the son of Frank and Irene (Bowler) Adams.

He attended Wilton Academy where he was very active in sports, especially football, basketball and baseball. He graduated in 1956 and married Connie Bubier, joined the US Navy and traveled along the South Pacific.

Bob and Connie had two children: Ron and Deborah. Ron gave him a grandson, Wesley R. Adams; Debbie gave him four grandchildren: Jessica Dugan, Michael, Jonathon and Cameron Herring.

Bob was a fantastic dad. He and Connie never missed a football, baseball, wrestling, gymnastics or track meet, and he coached Ron in football. He and Connie welcomed all their childrens’ friends into their home and enjoyed sitting and sharing stories for hours.

He taught Deborah to ride a bike and drive a car and spent many hours driving her to friends’ houses and to jobs.
In 1992, Bob married Betty Goding Owens and acquired four step-children: Rachel, Laura, Charles and Anne; along with grandchildren: Ryan and Chad Jackson, Rick Baker, Gina Pettingill, Teresa, Mike and Rachael Owens, as well as several great grandchildren.

Bob worked as a hand sewer for G. H. Bass for about 30 years and later was employed by Gates Formed Fiber, following the closing of Bass.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Roberta and his first wife, Constance Bubier Adams.

A date and time for his memorial service will be announced later in the spring.

  4. Bob was a wonderful friend and a fantastic person. He always stoped to spesk and have a bit of conversation along with his wife Betty. So very very missed by the both of us. I know he is in a wonderful place watching over us all.
