Roland J. Rodrigue (1940 – 2016)

OAKLAND – Roland J. Rodrigue, 75, passed away peacefully at home following a recent illness on Feb. 3, 2016.

He was born in Waterville on May 19, 1940, one of five sons of Wilfred and Malvina Bourgoin Rodrigue.

Roland was educated in the Waterville school system. He married Rebecca Salsbury Stevens, Feb. 14, 1990 in Waterville. Roland was employed a number of years as the Director of Housekeeping at the former Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital & Mid Maine Medical Center. In 2002 he retired from Colby College.

Roland is survived by his wife Rebecca (Salsbury,Stevens) Rodrigue; Brother, Raymond Rodrigue of Fairfield, and Stepchildren, Dean Stevens and wife Michele of Belgrade, Scott Stevens and wife Elizabeth of Winslow, and Michelle Jenkinson and husband John of Holderness, N.H. Grandchildren; Zachary, Spencer, Sarah, Hannah Stevens and Lily Grace Jenkinson. He is predeceased by his brothers, Bob, Donald and Norman.

Roland will long be remembered for his creativity, design, and building of his intricate birdhouses, lawn signs, and furniture pieces that can be found throughout the homes of friends and family. He had a talent that will be part of us for years to come.

At Roland’s request there will be no memorial services or visitation hours. Interment in the Spring.
