LEWISTON – Ronald E. Fox 77, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, Jan. 5, 2015.

He was born in Auburn, the son of Oscar L. and Fanita (Proctor) Fox. Ronnie, otherwise known to many as Foxy, lived his life to the fullest and was a very social person. He was of the old-school and new that if a person worked hard in life they would prosper. Foxy began working at a very young age as a paperboy. He attended Lewiston Public Schools and after high school he entered the U.S Air Force from 1958 to 1961. After the military he married Georgette Rancourt in 1963 and had a daughter Kelly.

Foxy began his career at Lewiston Welding and ended his career as a car salesman. He worked for Thrifty (Emerson) Toyota for 42 years and sold over 10,000 vehicles. It seemed as everyone new Foxy and everyone bought their car from Foxy. He had countless repeat customers over his career. The family would like to thank the Emerson Family for their dedication to Ronnie and their support of him over the years.

In 1976, he met the love of his life, Judith T. Smith (Fox) and they married on June 26, 1998. Foxy loved to hunt, fish, visit with family and friends at Moosehead Lake and took many trips to Aruba.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Judy Fox; daughter Kelly and husband Scott; step-children, Stephen Belleau and his wife Eileen, Kim Parker and husband Robert, James Belleau and wife Rebecca. Foxy also leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Nicholas, Casey, Alex, Lauren, Maggie, James II, Michael, Anna, Ellie, Megan, Erin and great-grandchild, Christopher his beloved dog, Molly; four brothers: Larry, John, Russell and Gerald and one sister, Janice.

Foxy was predeceased by his brother Richard Fox, sister Sandra Goodwin and daughter, Julianna.

Foxy was loved for his warmth and personality. He will be remembered by all his family, friends, and all those who bought a car from him. May you rest in peace Foxy. We will miss you. Visitation at Fortin/Auburn on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery. Those wishing may make donations in his memory to The Margaret Murphy Center, 415 Rodman Rd., Auburn, ME 04210 or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

  3. To the Fox family, So sorry to hear of Foxy’s passing. Going to Emerson is not the same without him. We have bought 4 cars from him and there was always the best relations with him. He was old school and what ever he told you about the car you knew was the truth. Just think of him sitting on a beach in Aruba enjoying himself.
