INDUSTRY – Ruth Elizabeth Plog Therrien, 95, of Madrid died on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at her son in-law’s home in Industry, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 15, 1919, in Madrid, the daughter of John F. and Clarissa E. Plog. She was educated in the Phillips area schools, and married Colin Therrien in December of 1938.
She worked in her earlier years at Forster Mfg. in Strong and then at the Red Onion Restaurant in Rangeley. In her golden years she worked at the Kennebago Camps in Oquossoc.
Ruth enjoyed collecting glass dolls, coffee mugs, and pictures of her family.
She is survived by her son Robert Therrien and his wife Carol of New Hampshire, her daughter Linda Gray and her husband Charles of Ellsworth, her son Scott Therrien and his partner Scott Handville of West Gardiner and her son Dexter Therrien and his wife Susan of Friendship. She also has many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, and a sister Marion Wilcox of Harrison.
She is predeceased by her husband Colin, a grandson Dexter, a son David, a son Denis and his wife Barbara, and a daughter Peggy Hinkley.
