  28. Thinking of the whole family. I’ve known Sammy since I was a kid, having I grown up in Wilton. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know him even better in my adulthood living out here in New Sharon. He was a good man, hard worker and loved everyone. I’m going to miss seeing you around Sammy!

  29. Our hearts are full of tears. He always had a good joke for us when we saw him and we always walked away with a smile. Of course his smile alone was contagious and we loved seeing him. He was one of the “good guys”. We will miss him dearly and will always remember him. Sincere condolences to the family and all of his friends which were many.

  30. Any time we were on the Wilton side and needing fuel, even not a tankful, we made a beeline for Gould’s. Not because the fuel was better. It was all the same. But because Sam was there. You got great service, and you could find out what was happening around Dryden and the rest of Wilton by asking the man who had the catbird seat to see it all as it passed the station.
For more than 20 years, our Fryeburg Fair concession trips began when all our trucks stopped at Gould’s for fuel, fluids checks, tire checks. For half an hour or so, Sam was busy with our trucks. As we headed out of Gould’s and up Burgess Hill, we knew our trucks were ready for the grind of the fair.
Thank you, Sam, for your kindness. May God bless you, neighbor.

  31. What a great guy to have on “our side”! Whether it was keeping our family cars rolling, looking out for the welfare of a sizeable fleet of business vehicles, or just sharing the latest joke to hit this corner of the world, Sam will be remembered with our fondness and appreciation!
It was interesting to see Sam at work …. I’m sure Danny will find it impossible to employ anyone as conscientious and ambitious! He just plain knew what was going on all around him, and seemingly never hesitated to jump up and assist whomever needed help.
Our sympathy to Sam’s family …. Wife, Girls, Brother .
We’ll miss you Sam. Dennis and Linda Taylor

  32. WOW!!! Let’s go back to the 70’s and find Sam as a Freshman in my classes at Mt. Blue. His smile and attitude were the same, even back in those youthful days. Every visit to Gould’s brought Sammy to the front with a new story, making all our lives brighter along with Full Service not known in today’s world. Danny, your loss is everyone’s loss, and we grieve with you. He’s been taken from us much too soon and Dryden, Maine will long feel his passing. We are not supposed to bury our students, and I cherish the memories we shared. To his family, just know, all he gave to his friends, will not be soon forgotten.

  33. The living world has lost an angel. Sammy was one of the most caring people we know. Always there with a helping hand and a lover of animals. We have had the privilige of knowing Sam for years and years. Too many to really count. always a smile and a wave, even if you didn’t stop for gas. A quiet hard working Man. You will be missed. RIP Sam.

  34. Always there when I needed help with my car no matter how small a job. His smiling face will be missed by many. God Bless Sam.

  35. Disbelief was the first thing that came to mind when we got the message he was gone. He was such an incredible human being. I have fond memories of you Brother that I will not forget. We will see each other again, until then, ride easy. God Bless and keep those that loved him. Our prayers are with you.

  36. It brings me great sorrow to learn of Sam’s passing. We grew up together as the best of friends. As kids , we were “grounded” by our parents together , on many occasion. As adults , we shared our first experiences of the Harley – Davidson lifestyle. Pound for pound , Sam was one of the toughest guys that I’ve known , yet , he had one of the biggest hearts of anyone that I’ve ever known. He would go to any extent to help out anybody in need. Sam had an outstanding work ethic and was a loyal employee at Goulds. He touched the lives of many people and will be truly missed by anyone that knew him.

  37. My heart goes out to Sam’s family. Sheri . I ‘m at a loss for words. He was taken way too soon and my heart is broken. I ‘m here if you ever want to talk or just need a hug.

  38. yes Sammy was the best , he did have a huge heart and gift of laughter, adam , I know how close you two were , rip Sammy , my heart goes out to his family, and all of us that will miss his charm , smile , jokes ,
