JAY — Sandra L. Hebert, 74, of Jay, died peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at her home in Jay.

Sandra was born Feb. 24, 1941, a daughter of Lester and Katherine (McCourt) Cook.

She attended local schools, graduating from Jay High School in the class of 1959. On Sept. 24, 1960, she married Frederick Hebert, and together they raised three children, Kevin, Timothy, and Beth. Sandra worked at Livermore Shoe Company for many years.

Sandra enjoyed reading, quilting and working in her flower gardens. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Sandra was known for her honesty, yummy baked goods, and her talent as a seamstress. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially their trips to Florida and the different cruises they went on together.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Frederick Hebert of Jay; children, Kevin Hebert and his wife Debra of Jay, Timothy Hebert and his wife, Pauline of Peru, and Beth O’Donnell and her husband Terry of Jay; grandchildren, Benjamin Hebert, Lauren Hebert, Jenny Couture, Amanda Wing and her husband Jason, Haleigh O’Donnell, Ian O’Donnell, and Ethan O’Donnell; great grandchildren, Reese and Braylee Tracy; a sister, Leanne Turner of Jay; sisters in law Anna Hebert, Rheanne Frost and her husband Bernard, and Krystal LaBerge and her husband, Emile.

She was predeceased by her parents; father and mother in law, Joseph and Elizabeth Hebert, step-father, Stuart Record; brother in laws, William Turner, Richard Hebert, Bruce Hebert and Harold Hebert.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 28, 2015 from 11:00AM to 12:30PM at Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Rd., Jay, ME 04239. A funeral service will begin at 12:30 with Rev. John Gensel officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Rt. 2, Wilton, ME 04294. Following the burial all are welcome to a reception being hosted at La Fleurs restaurant, 224 Main St., Jay, ME 04239.   1. Even though we went our separate ways I will always remember Sandra ..Her parents and mine were school mates and good friends . She was one of my sitters when I was young maybe 4 till 10 years old .Her being only 8 years older than me we were friends.. I remember the farm in east Jay well. After traveling the long driveway you came to a warm house where Katherine always had a pot on the stove .After seeing she died kinda makes me sad that I didn’t stay in touch with her .. She was such a nice person as a teenager I’m sure she was a nice and loving person her whole life .. My condolences to the family ……Doug.
