Sheryl Ann Starbird (1963-2014)

BANGOR – Sheryl Ann Starbird, 51, of Trenton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 at a Bangor Hospital following a long battle with COPD. Sheryl was surrounded by the love of her son, sister and brother-in-law as she took her final breaths.

Sheryl was the daughter of Judy Lowe of Strong  and Dale Starbird of Waterbury, Conn. She was educated in the Strong schools.

She enjoyed the love of family and friends, the ocean, dolphins, and she loved to travel. She especially loved to sing with her beloved soul mate and love of her life Neal Kleffman of Trenton.

Sheryl was a wonderful friend, mother and grandmother. She was loved by many people.

She is survived by her son, Joshua Starbird; her partner Neal; two step-children Austin and Shelby, and her beloved grandchildren Kira and Jonny, who were her pride and joy. Sheryl is also survived by her father Dale, grandmother Jean Carlow of Strong, one brother Robert Starbird of Iowa, sister Debbie Hinkley of Strong, sister and best friend Betty Roy and her husband Larry Roy of Skowhegan; half-brothers Kenny and Kevin, and half-sisters Kelly and Kimberly Starbird of Waterbury, Conn.; many nieces and nephews which she loved dearly and great-nieces and nephews who she was so proud of and aunts and uncles and many friends who will miss her dearly.

Sheryl is predeceased by her mother Judy Lowe, step-father Richard Lowe, brother Richard Starbird, and step-son Neal Kleffman, Jr.

Family and friends who would like to celebrate her life are welcome to join us at the Foster Memorial Building in Strong  on Dec. 7, 2014, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. We welcome you to come and share in memories of Sheryl. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so are welcome to make donations towards the purchase of a stone by sending them to: Betty Roy, 30 Big Bird St., Skowhegan, ME  04976. There will be a private family burial in the spring.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

  1. My condolences to the Starbird family. May it help you and your family to know that soon sickness will be a thing of the past for Isaiah 33:24 says: No resident will say: “I am sick “. So soon you will no longer need to worry about losing your loved one to death because of sickness, for it will be gone forever because God love us and know our pain, when death comes. Please find some comfort and strength from these few facts, in your time of need.

  2. So sad to hear of Sherry’s passing…her family lived in my neighborhood growing up…my condolences to the entire family. May God bless you and keep you during this time.

  3. Sherry was such a good person. We went to school together and she was always so full of life, laughter and if she was your friend she was your friend for life.
    To Betty and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Cherish the memories you have that will help you thru this. If there is anything I can do for you pls let me know..

  4. I have many happy memories of Sherry from my earliest childhood. She was a sweet girl with the kindest heart. Sherry will leave a hole in many hearts that can only be mended by loving memories of her. My condolences to her loved ones.
