Susan Marie Forbus (1973-2012)

SKOWHEGAN - Susan Marie (Shorey) Forbus, 38, passed away on August 6, 2012 at her home on Waterville Road after a long illness caused by gastric bypass surgery.

She was born Sept. 30, 1973 in Skowhegan, the daughter of Ronald Edward and Sharon Emily (Courtney) Shorey Brenner.

She will be remembered for singing along with many Patsy Cline songs on karoke night. If she could say anything to the world it would be, “all girls be happy with how God made you; fat, thin, tall, short, or otherwise. You are special and cherished for who you are.”

Susan will be sadly missed by her family.

Susan is survived by two sons, Patrick Shorey of Clinton, Alex Austin Shorey of Stonnington; mother, Sharon (Courtney) Shorey Benner of Clinton; four aunts, Julie Courtney of North Anson, Racheal Courtney of Anson, Ruth McFail, Deborah Corson of Solon; four uncles, Amos Courtney of North Anson, Thomas Courtney of Anson, Mark Shorey of Freedom, Robert Shorey of Augusta; brother, Steven Shorey of Skowhegan; sister-in-law, Anna Cunningham of Skowhegan; a niece and nephew of Skowhegan; special friends, Jon Bolduc of Norridgewock, Adam and Amy Adams of Skowhegan; special brother, Lonnie Boulette; many cousins.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, partner John Hopkins; both sets of grandparents; her great Aunt Hazel (who named her); and her father.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 19, 2012 at the home of Sharon Benner, 191 Canaan Road, Clinton.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Susan M. Forbus memorial fund, c/o Sharon Benner, 191 Canaan Road, Clinton, Maine 04927.
