JAY – Suzanne Marie Morants, 77, of Jay passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Dec. 1, 2016.

She was born Aug. 31, 1939 in Torrington, Conn., the daughter of Leo and Agnes Patricia Aucoin. She worked most of her life as a ballet and ballroom dance teacher. In her later life, she enjoyed clogging with her daughter and the Moose Creek Cloggers.

She loved gardening and entertaining. She had a great love for animals. In her retirement, she had a mini-farm complete with chickens and goats. It gave her great joy to share her farm chores with her grandchildren when they would visit.

Suzanne is survived by her daughter Michele Knapp and her husband Joseph of Jay; her son Tarek Morants and his wife Dawn of Aurora, Colo.; grandsons: Tahsin and Torin Morants; sister Lucille Morisse and husband Robert of Bloomfield, Conn.; sister-in-law Patricia Ancoin; second husband John Williams of Newington, Conn.; stepson Jay Williams and wife Erica of Colchester, Conn.; and stepdaughter Tammy Williams of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

She was predeceased by her brother John Ancoin.

At Suzanne’s request there will be no services at this time. Donations may be made in her memory to The Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

  2. What great memories I have from growing up across the street from the Morants family and the fun we had at Suzanne’s ballet studio. Your mom made life so much more interesting and fun! She was a beautiful ballerina who shared her love with all. God bless her!

  6. Miss Sue was such an influence in my life. She gave me so much and helped make me who I am today. I was just telling someone about being King Neptune, and Eeyore! Such fond memories.
    What an impact she made to so many girls in. Newington.
