ROME – Tracey Ann Nye, 62, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Sunday night, May 15, 2016, at her home with family and friends by her side.

Tracey was born May 6, 1954, and preceded by her father and mother, Robert and Eileen Swain.

She was the loving wife of Perry for 40 years, devoted mother to Allyson Nye, Katie Brickett and Christine Slater. A wonderful sister to Leslie, Holly, Ken, Chris and Andy. Tracey was a supportive, and caring grandmother to Justin Brickett and Saige Brickett, and an amazing friend to many, particularly Tenley Kent and Vincent Olsen.

She graduated from Cony High School, lived in Rome most of her life and was an insurance agent for Shiretown Insurance in Farmington. Tracey loved to tend her flower gardens, she was a savvy antique collector and a fabulous cook. She especially enjoyed her puppy Molly. She had a quick wit and ever present smile, and made time for everyone. Perry and Tracey spent much of their time together at their camp in Letter E Township.

She will be missed dearly by her family, friends and co-workers. A celebration of life will be on June 18, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at her home, 657 Watson Pond Road, Rome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, Farmington, ME 04938.

  1. I was so sorry to hear about Tracey’s passing. Really bad news. I knew her mostly from doing business with Shiretown; she was always pleasant and helpful – a kind and competent woman. Gone way too soon.

  2. So sorry to Perry, Ally, and the rest of the family. Tracey was an amazing woman and it’s been a pleasure to have been able to work with her for the past 14 or so years. I will forever remember the strength she showed while facing such a tough and unthinkable situation. Thinking of that will no doubt help me get through the tough times in life when they come. Thank you Tracey, for all that you’ve done. My best to all the family and friends.
