Vivian was born to parents Charles and Ida (McNamara) Crowe on Aug. 8, 1944 in Meriden, Conn. She grew up as the second youngest of five siblings and attended Skowhegan High School.

On Oct. 22, 1966 she married the love of her life Kenneth Lawrence Chase Jr. In 1970 she took a position at Kyes Fiber in Waterville, and remained there until she retired 32 years later. Vivian had a work ethic second to none. Not being one to sit idle after her retirement she settled into a position at MSAD 49 as a bus monitor for the special needs children. That was her greatest joy.

She always stayed busy with her numerous group activities and volunteer work. She was a proud member of the Rebeckas and Red Hat Society; she also volunteered for about 10 years with the Waterville Salvation Army, and worked with the Fairfield Food Pantry and helped with the Fairfield Days. She specially enjoyed working in her garden and often attended church at both Shawmut Chapel in Shawmut and Fairfield Center United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being very social with her groups of lady friends with weekly breakfast and lunch gatherings.

Vivian is survived by her brother Leonard Crowe and his wife Penny of Carmel; her daughters Lisa Chase and her fiance Larry Raymond of Plymouth, and her children Reva Reynolds and her fiance Jamie Furguson and his son Ethan Furguson of Oswago, N.Y. and Calvin Cobb and his wife Jazzmine of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; Kathy (Chase) Home and her husband Scott and her children Kenneth Violette of Oakland, and Dawn (Chase) Pike and her husband Scott and their daughter Violet Pike of Oakland; Donna Chase and her partner Gerald Adams and her children William and Shaina Halley of Waterville; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ida Crowe; her sisters Shirely Handley and Beverly Calden; her brother Vernon Crowe; her nephews Randy Calden and Leonard Crowe Jr. and her ex-husband Kenneth Chase Jr.

A special thank you goes out the all the friends and family who help support Vivian by the numerous phone calls, cards and prayers. Thank you must also go out to the staff at Maine Medical Center in Portland; Dr. Emmanuel Soultanakis and Emily Longache at Maine Medical Partners Woman’s Health; and Central Maine Medical Center. Your support and care was greatly appreciated.
