PALMYRA – Warren P. Blake, 87, passed away Sept. 14, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born May 10, 1929 in Peabody, Mass., the son of Warren H. and Aili (Penttila) Blake.

On Aug. 4, 1951, he married Lenora M. Bragdon in Ashland. He was a career military administrator supervisor who proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1968 when he retired as a Master Sergeant and was honorably discharged. From 1968 to 1988 he worked at the Beranger VW, Rochester, New Hampshire and retired there. He enjoyed wood working, golf, loved to go down to the Palmyra Variety Store in the morning to catch up on the local gossip, traveling and visiting family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Edward Blake of Palmyra, 2 daughters, Donna Benson and husband John of Palmyra, Tammy McDonnell and husband Brian of Raymond; grandchildren, Bonnie Benson Gorrasi, Peter Benson, William Benson, and Kayla Rodney Miller; great grandchildren, Cole, Quinn, Mara, Mia, Ashlyn, and Luke.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lenora M. Blake; sister, Marian; 2 brothers, Richard and Arthur.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
